From north of Bude around to Rame Head, there is 300 miles of Cornish coastal footpath, and the Atlantic Ocean provides an awesome and ever-changing backdrop to the towering and rugged cliffs, interspersed with idyllic sandy coves, narrow gorges and picturesque fishing villages. The close-grazed grassland on the clifftops makes for superb undulating walking, and expansive views along the coast are a constant feature.

The granite tors which overlook the spectacular coastline are dotted with ancient standing stones which contribute greatly to the mystique of the area. Just inland from Lanteglos you can explore the wonderfully unspoilt and natural Bodmin Moor taking in Rough Tor and Brown Willy, the highest point in Cornwall.

A favourite local walk begins from the National Trust village of Port Quin to the the peaceful isolation of The Rumps and around the magnificent headland of Pentire where one of the finest views in Cornwall unfolds. Another starts from Tintagel Castle in its incomparable clifftop setting to the attractive fishing village of Boscastle with its narrow fjord-like harbour. Both are stunning!

Tintagel ‘King Arthur’ Walk

A moderate, scenic walk with some steep bits, along the North Cornwall Coast Path from historic Tintagel to the pretty fishing village of Boscastle via Rocky Valley, and back via the waterfalls of St Nectan’s Glen.

Camelford to Watergate

An easy-moderate, circular walk from the old market town of Camelford, following the River Camel through woodland, along the Camel Valley to the Celtic churchyard of Advent Chruch and the Neolithic remains on the edge of Bodmin Moor, with views of Rough Tor along the way.

Pentire Headland Walk
