A
modern approach to a traditional hotel.
The
hotel is family owned and personally managed by Roger and
Stephanie Ely, who celebrate their 25th anniversary at Lanteglos
this year. Over the years, we have welcomed guests from all
over the world, hosting walkers and golfers from as far afield
as the USA, Australia, the Bahamas and South Africa. Families
from Russia, Singapore and New Zealand, and from every corner
of the UK, have holidayed with us, and now we are delighted
to be welcoming their childrens children too.
Our
season begins each year in March. Spring and autumn here in
Cornwall are perfect times for our golfing or walking holidays,
when the weather is often beautiful, but the beaches and golf
courses are uncrowded. July and August is mainly a time for
family holidays Cornwall is a paradise for children
and parents alike. Most weekends throughout the season we
host civil weddings and receptions, and Lanteglos is the ideal
venue for informal meetings or private lunches and dinners.
The
hotel is rich in history - the renowned 19th century ecclesiastical
architect Augustus Welby Pugin, who was famous for his work
on the Palace of Westminster, built the house in 1847 as a
parsonage for the adjacent St Julietta church. Although it
has been a hotel for about 40 years, the building retains
a great sense of traditional style, imparting a little bit
of magic to holidays here.
